SHANGHAI – Shanghai International Literary Festival 2011 has started on Friday (04/03/2011). The festival will be held for three weeks until 19 March.

Starting from 2003 with small scale, the Shanghai International Literary Festival (SILF) has grown rapidly become the most popular English-language literary festival in China.

This year, SILF will be attended by 83 authors from 17 countries in the world. President of the United States (U.S.), Barack Obama urged the Libyan president Moammar Qaddafi to resign from his position. According to Obama, the retreat was the best decision for Qaddafi for the good of his country.

“Colonel Qaddafi must come down from his position. It is the best option for his country. It’s also good for their people and be the right choice to be done,”President Obama told AFP on Friday (04/03/2011).
